SOLIDWORKS World 2018 – Unveiling New Exams

It was way back in 1998 when SOLIDWORKS had introduced its first certification exam for programmers and engineers. SOLIDWORKS recently celebrated 20 years of the inception of its first certification program at SOLIDWORKS World 2018. Along with the anniversary celebration, SOLIDWORKS also announced two new certification exams at this conference.

The Big Unveil on Day 3

The announcement was made on the third day of the conference by Senior Manager of the Worldwide Certification Program, Michael Puckett. He stated that the CSWPA – Mold Making exam and CSWA – AM (Additive Manufacturing) exam would be added to the current certification program. CSWPA – Mold Making Exam

The CSWPA – Mold Making Exam is available for users now. This exam aims to test your understanding and the ability to use the functionality of SOLIDWORKS Mold Tools and the mold making industrial knowledge. The CSWPA Mold Making exam also features hands-on challenges in these areas such as Cavity Tool, Draft Analysis, Parting Surface Creation, Parting Line Creation, Surfacing and so much more. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes, and you must score at least 75% to be eligible for certification. In case you score less than 75%, you must go through a 30-day waiting period before attempting CSWPA – Mold Making exam again. You will also have to buy exam credit of $19.95 to retake the exam.

CSWA - Additive Manufacturing Exam

The CSWA - AM (Additive Manufacturing) exam will be available on MySolidWorks around April 2018. It covers a multitude of topics such as machine types, machine materials, model prep, printing, finishing and many more. It also includes a 10-part course and will provide you with a better understanding of additive manufacturing. The CSWA - AM exam consists of a set of 30 questions that will cost you $49.

Apart from two new exams, the current CSWP (Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional) exam has undergone a revamp. The CSWP exam, marking its 20th anniversary, is now overhauled with entirely new content, design, and challenges.
