The 3DEXPERIENCE platform, with its innovative 6WTags feature, offers an efficient approach to searching and retrieving data. These Tags are essentially search features with higher capability to find data according to the properties.
What are 6WTags?
6WTags are a categorization tool within 3DEXPERIENCE that helps you label information. 6WTags provide a structured way to categorize information based on six fundamental questions(6W): Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How. These tags are based on six fundamental questions:
• “Where” tag adds a location element to data, whether it is in a specific collaborative space, bookmark, or source.
• “What” tag addresses the nature of the data being tagged. Organizing the data into categories makes it clear what kind of information is given, whether it’s a design document, a prototype, or a comment.
• “When” tag is used for time structure to define the data in what date it was created when it was last revised, and modification date.
• “Who” tag allows users to attribute information to specific team members or stakeholders. This feature promotes accountability and transparency throughout the collaborative design process by making it easier to identify who is responsible for what.
• “How” tag explores the methods or procedures associated with a particular data.
• “Why” tag provides insight into the purpose or motivation behind a particular action or data point. It adds depth to information, empowering teams to make strategic decisions based on a comprehensive understanding of the context.
6W Tags can be used not only for searching data but also it can be use in other apps such as Collaborative Tasks, Bookmark Editor, 3D Space, and more. In fact, 6W Tags are versatile and can be applied in almost every app within the 3DExperience platform.
In Collaborative Tasks, 6W Tags can be used to identify the assignee of a task, the last person who modified it, and the type of CAD format. The information can be displayed in various forms such as graphs, pie charts, and sorted lists by letters or numbers.
As well as in the Bookmark Editor, 6W Tags help identify where specific data is located among bookmarks, who created those bookmarks, and who owns them. This functionality extends across various applications, allowing effective information filtering tailored to specific needs
Whereas in Collaborative Spaces, 6W Tags function similarly by filtering information based on criteria like location, approval status, and CAD format. This versatile feature isn't limited to specific apps but is applicable across almost every application within the 3D Experience Platform
Benefits of Using 6WTags:
• Enhanced Data Organization: By categorizing data with 6WTags, you can easily organize and retrieve information, making your workflow more efficient.
• Improved Collaboration: These tags improve communication among team members by providing clear context about each piece of data.
• Efficient Search and Filter: With 6WTags, searching for specific information becomes quick and straightforward, saving valuable time.
• Contextual Awareness: 6WTags add context to your data, helping team members understand the details at a glance.
How to Use 6WTags:
1. Accessing 6WTags:
On the top of the Dashboard, you have a Search bar and the option of the 6WTags. From there you can access all your file data by searching.
2. Using Tags for Search:
Utilize the tags to filter and find specific data quickly.
CONCLUSION:
By leveraging 6WTags, you can unlock a new level of efficiency and collaboration in your projects. While there are many options for seamless collaboration, 6WTags stand out when it comes to locating specific data. They make all information more accessible by providing relevant details about files at your fingertips. This feature offers a faster way to access and utilize your data effectively.
